This is a daily Booster designed to support it in its hard work, or to lend a helping hand if a heavy night has led to a heavy morning for your liver. Like a mini cocktail (sorry, too soon?) of five functional ingredients with clinically proven benefits, Detox is a liver-lover, looking out for this essential organ in both the short and long term.

Ginseng contains a set of powerful plant compounds called ginsenosides. These play a beneficial role in the regulation of day-to-day liver function and have been used in the treatment of general hepatotoxicity (liver damage) and hepatitis (inflammation of the liver), as well as other acute and chronic liver disorders.¹

Milk thistle’s recorded use for liver-related ailments dates as far back as ancient Greece and Rome. Fast forward to the 20th century, and researchers discovered the plant active silymarin in milk thistle, pointing to its free radical-scavenging and antioxidant activities as explanations for this plant’s hepatoprotective properties.²

Dandelion has been shown to help decrease inflammation and oxidative stress on the liver, as well as helping to increase bile flow, an important part of the liver’s detoxification process, further helping to reduce stress on this vital organ.³

Last but certainly not least, ginger and turmeric’s gingerol and curcumin give these roots their anti-inflammatory properties. When you’re feeling hungover, they can help target inflammation in the liver (and beyond) caused in part by acetaldehyde, a toxic byproduct of the alcohol-metabolization process. Furthermore, their antioxidant properties target oxidative stress on the liver, vital for optimal long-term liver function.

Tasting Notes: ginger and turmeric-forward in flavour with a sweet and sour apple-citrus finish, Detox can be enjoyed as a shot (still too soon?) or diluted into hot or cold water.
